Superfoods for a Super You

What exactly is a superfood? According to the Macmillan Dictionary, it is defined as “a food that is considered to be very good for your health and that may even help some medical conditions.”

Superfoods are generally accepted as being nutrient-dense, and these nutrients may include vitamins, antioxidants, polyphenols, and omega fatty acids. Some popular examples include blueberries, acai, kale, pomegranate and salmon.

Benefits of eating superfoods are endless! They may help reduce inflammation, free radical damage, cholesterol and susceptibility to chronic diseases. Instead of memorizing all the superfoods, our EVER tip is to eat the rainbow (think whole foods such as fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds). Many of these colorful foods will fall in the superfood category, and eating a variety will ensure you’re diversifying the types of nutrients your body needs, keeping you feeling AND looking healthy.

So for a glow from the inside out, seek out superfoods, and eat the rainbow!
